Since 1873
The story of Don Pachi Estate begins in 1873 with Blasina Samudio, a member of the Dorasque people and one of the first women in the region to hold legal title to agricultural land.
For more than a century and a half, the family has cultivated coffee in the fertile volcanic soils of Boquete, passing knowledge and expertise from one generation to the next.
In 1963, Francisco Antonio SerracĂn â known throughout the coffee community as “Don Pachi” â introduced Geisha seed stock into Panama. What appeared at the time to be a simple agricultural decision would later become one of the defining moments in specialty coffee history.
As Panamanian producers began exploring individual coffee varieties through professional cupping and quality evaluation, the extraordinary qualities of Geisha became impossible to ignore. The variety’s floral aromatics, tea-like elegance, and remarkable complexity would ultimately establish Panama as one of the world’s most respected coffee-producing origins.
